Kandinsky etching workshop adults

11 October, 27 October & 10 November 2024

This fall (Oct. 11 through Nov. 10, 2024), there will be an adult etching workshop from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the H’ART Museum Studio in conjunction with the Kandinsky exhibition on Friday, Oct. 11, Sunday, Oct. 27 and Sunday, Nov. 10.

During the workshop you will receive tips and tools from the teacher. At the end you will of course take your own work home with you.

Duration: 3 hours

Friday, October 11: drawing and dry needle etching

In this workshop you will make different lines, scratch surfaces and explore the play of light and dark. We look at Kandinsky’s graphic work and in particular his etchings. What game does he play with the dot and the lines? During the workshop you will receive tips and tools from the teacher. At the end you will of course take your own work home with you.

Saturday, October 27: combination watercolor and dry needle etching

During this workshop you will first look for movements in Kandinsky’s work. In the studio you will make a watercolour in spots and then make a dry needle etching with a lot of movement in the image. This is printed on the watercolour. During the workshop you will receive tips and tools from the teacher. At the end you will of course take your own work home with you.

Sunday november 10: plate tone with colored ink and gouache

During this workshop you will first view and investigate Kandinsky’s work from his Parisian period. In the studio you will make a simple etching design using different colours for the prints. You will then edit this with poster paint. Playing is the most important! During the workshop you will receive tips and tools from the teacher. At the end you will of course take your own work home with you.
