Celebrate the 10th edition of Jazz @H’ART Museum with us on June 22! To mark this special occasion, H’ART Museum is hosting a festive opening featuring Benjamin Herman and The Square Cats.
22 June 2025
Doors opening: 14:00
Location: Courtyard garden, H'ART Museum (Amstel 51)
Saxophonist and musical omnivore Benjamin Herman has been one of the most prolific musicians of his generation. Since the 1990s, he has played all over the world and released more than fifty albums—both as a solo artist and with his band, New Cool Collective. His remarkably diverse musical output includes traditional jazz, punk jazz, film scores, and postmodern interpretations of composer Misha Mengelberg’s work.
Kicking things off, The Square Cats will set the stage with lively, danceable vintage music. The band consists of two guitarists (rhythm and melody), one saxophonist, and a vocalist. Their sound is a vibrant blend of Django Reinhardt and Ella Fitzgerald. Especially for the 10-year anniversary edition of Jazz@H’ART, they will energize the audience with their unique Gypsy-inspired sounds!
Guiding the evening is DJ Von Rosenthal, known for his refined taste and eclectic mixes that seamlessly complement a laid-back jazz atmosphere. He will also host a brief Q&A with Benjamin Herman before his performance.
