In Opus Kaleidoskopus, the NJJO joins forces with none other than Reinier Baas, master guitarist, bandleader, composer, arranger, and multiple Edison Award winner. Under his guidance, sixteen outstanding young talents take part in a two-year coaching programme designed to prepare them as the jazz innovators of tomorrow.
The programme features surprisingly danceable music by forward-thinking artists such as Fuensanta Méndez, Petter Eldh, Genevieve Artadi, and Misha Mengelberg, alongside several of Baas’s own “greatest hits” in brand-new arrangements.
The goal is to blend the daily bread of jazz improvisation with influences from beyond the genre, creating an exciting and entirely fresh musical experience. And all of this takes place in the courtyard garden of H’ART Museum.
